Five Nights at Freddy’s Kicks Off as 2022’s Most Popular Game

Groundbreaking horror video game, championed by the generations of Millenials and Early Gen Z, Five Nights at Freddy’s has found itself as one of the highest trending franchises of 2022 within its first month. Kicking off in August 2014, the game was an immediate hit, claimed by many to be one of the greatest horror video games of all time.

With its horrifyingly unexpected jump scares from weeping-angel-esque animatronics, as you play a security guard watching over them in a pizzeria, with a system of security cameras that contain dangerously low power, are sure to give even those with the thickest of skin a shock. Social media influencers with the likes of Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Pewdiepie, Cory Kenshin, among countless others have all gained hundreds of millions of views on their Five Nights at Freddy’s videos and reactions alone, from the franchise’s pilot, all the way to its smaller spin-offs, like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator and its newest edition, Security Breach, in December 2021.

The game has also had multiple fan projects down in its honor, such as the techno music YouTube group, The Living Tombstone, amassing hundreds of millions of views from their songs based on a number of the game’s renditions. The game has continued to hold up its own as an incredibly powerful franchise with an enormous and undying fan base, all the way up to its current 8th year of release in 2022.
