Memphis Rapper Shot and Killed

Alyssa Barden, Writer

Young Dolph was a young Memphis rapper who died at the age of 36 on November 16. He rose to fame in 2014 with the song “High Class Street Music 4.” Dolph was on his way to Makeda’s cookies and was shot with a semi- automatic gun. The killers still remain unnamed. Young Dolph was killed unprovoked and given the suspect without a reason. He was a prominent member of the community and was showing his support to a local business. Because of this murder, more violence began popping up. People who were wishing Dolph a goodbye were being shot at and killed as well. He left behind a great legacy with performing at Rolling Loud and Beale Street Music Fest, and leaving with two amazing hit songs “On the River” and “Major.”
