The NBA has returned! For millions of fans such as myself, these past few weeks have
been like Christmas. We have old faces in new places like Kawhi in Toronto and Lebron in L.A.
Not everything is new though, Joel Embiid is still the troll he has been the last couple of years,
and Russell Westbrook is still stat padding.
One of the biggest stories leading into the season was the dilemma between Jimmy Butler
and the Timberwolves. Jimmy was upset with the lack of effort he felt teammates Andrew
Wiggins and Karl Anthony-Towns were playing with. Jimmy did not spend a lot of time with the
team this summer, however, Butler did show up to a team practice and reportedly beat the
starters with the 3 rd stringers. Butler has yet to be traded.
A rather juicy story happened during the matchup between the Rockets and Lakers.
During the game Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul got into a scuffle. This fight had pushes from both
players and out of nowhere, the longest arm you have ever seen throw punches at Chris Paul, it
was Brandon Ingram. Rondo also reportedly spit on Paul. Ingram got suspended 4 games, Rondo
and Paul both got 2.
As of October 25, 2018 there are still 5 unbeaten teams: Toronto, Milwaukee, Detroit,
New Orleans, and Denver. Denver plays tonight in L.A. so that might change. A lot teams people
expected to do well aren’t all that so far, the Thunder have not won a game, the Lakers and
Rockets have only won one game, and the 76ers and are under .500 at the moment. It’s too early
in the season for any bold statements but Giannis Antetokounmpo has one of the best stat lines
I’ve seen through four games. He is putting up 29 points per game, 17 rebounds, and 7 assists. If
he keeps this up he could very will win the MVP. As for other predictions I think we will see a
Western Conference rematch while The Celtics play Bucks in the East. The Warriors are going
to beat the Celtics to join an elite class of three peat teams.
