On Monday was the one year anniversary for the Las Vegas shooting, that left 58 dead and many more injured. It was the deadliest single day mass shooting in modern US history and it transformed many lives. Just days before the one year anniversary, doctors have finally discharged one of the last survivors of the massacre, Rosemarie Melanson from the hospital. Melanson was one of the many victims present as the day of remembrance on Monday. The day began with a sunrise ceremony, where 58 doves were released and when the sun set more than 100 people gathered to link arms and honor those who had died. The logo #VegasStrong was a present and uniting theme of the day for the community. In addition, a healing garden has since been opened to honor those who had died.
