Shouldn’t What Amber Guyger Did be Taken More Seriously?

Amber Guyger is a thirty-year-old female veteran of the Dallas Police Department. One evening,
she walked into an apartment thinking it was her own. Except it wasn’t. Instead, it was the
apartment of an innocent twenty-six-year-old African American male named Botham Jean. She
apparently just came home after a 15-hour shift and noticed that the front door was open. She
supposedly asked if anyone was inside before firing her shot killing Jean. Many suspicions arose
after this incident. Jean wasn’t the only person in the apartment at that time. Two other people
were in there as well. They claim that the heard a very harsh knock at the door. The one closer
to the door claimed that that person yelled “Open up” and “Let me in”. That wouldn’t come
from a person if the door was already open so the real question is…. was the door really open?
And if she thought that that was her apartment wouldn’t she have the key that unlocks the
door? So how was she able to get in and shoot Botham Jean? Also, earlier that day there was a
noise complaint from Guyger, who lives directly underneath Jean, about his apartment being
too noisy. So why hasn’t Guyger been charged with anything yet until now? Was this just an
“accident” or a race related crime? These questions are still up in the air for a horrible crime
that people should not be taking lightly.
