The Allure of Drew Gooden

The Allure of Drew Gooden

Blakely Harrison, Little Stinker

Drew Gooden is a twenty-four-year-old from Orlando, Florida. He began his social media
career as a Viner. He began making his six second videos around 2015. Drew is best known for
his vines “Road work ahead uh yeah I sure hope it does” and “Dear Diary, today I couldn’t find
my diary so I’m writing this on both of my Kung Fu Panda 2 DVDs.”
Since Vine’s death (#RIP) at the beginning of 2017, multiple stars on that app migrated
over to YouTube. Several have been extremely successful including the Paul brothers, Liza
Koshy, David Dobrik, The Dolan Twins, as well as Drew Gooden. Drew is the self-proclaimed
“Founder of YouTube” and has almost one million subscribers. He makes comedy videos which
typically feature a humorous commentary about viral and often “cringy” YouTubers, Musers,
Instagram Comedians, etc. If you enjoy Cody Ko, Danny Gonzazles, and Tom Harlock you are
sure to also enjoy Drew’s videos.
The videos I would personally recommend to begin with would be “Jake Paul’s Beautiful
Disaster of a Live Show,” “Completely Pointless Life Hacks,” and “I Joined Team Ten So You
Don’t Have To.” Drew has a rather common theme of hating on the Paul brother’s so diehard
Team Tenners or Jake Paulers might not be the biggest fans of Drew’s videos.
A feature Drew has in every one of his video is a different work of art based on the
content of his video. He is a master of Microsoft Paint. Here are some examples of his Picasso-
like pieces. He also made a video of a tutorial giving us some insight as to how a master uses Paint.

His channel is full of great videos, and his subscriber count seems to be on a steady
incline. Drew is on the forefront of YouTube comedy with his videos as well as with his podcast
(Little Stinker Radio Hour). Be sure and check out his videos, hit that subscribe button, and
