After coming home from last years High School Musical Theatre Awards at the Orpheum Theater with the title of Outstanding Overall Production and 6 other awards for 42nd Street, Houston’s theatre department has finally announced their 2017-2018 season.

    Starting off the season is the annual fall straight play. This year they will be putting on Our Town, the Thornton Wilder classic. This show tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913. Auditions for our town will be September 5th and 6thimmediately after school. The show will run in early November.
   For the spring musical this year the theatre department will be putting on the backstage murder mystery, Curtains. This musical set in the 1950s with music written by David Hyde Pierce and Debra Monk has a cast of unforgettable characters and big production numbers. Auditions for Curtains will be November 7th 8th and 9th after school. You will need to have 16-32 bars of a song from a musical prepared and have sheet music with you. Auditions can not be A cappella. The show will run February 23 through 26th.
