New Claims Made About Global Warming
Last week, claims were made regarding the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
as they have been said to have rushed a landmark study claiming that the planet was warming
much faster than expected in order to influence international climate negotiations.
Dr. John Bates, a former principal scientist at the National Climate Center, told the Daily Mail
that the NOAA’s study was meant “to discredit the notion of a global warming hiatus and rush
to time the publication of the paper to influence national and international deliberations on
climate policy.”
It turns out that when NOAA compiled what is known as the ‘version 4’ dataset, it took reliable
readings from the buoys used to measure the sea temperatures but then ‘adjusted’ them
upwards – using readings from seawater intakes on ships that act as weather stations even
though reading from the ships have long been known to be too hot.
David Rose, the writer for Daily Mail, explained that “no one, to be clear, has ‘tampered’ with
the figures. But according to Bates, the way those figures were chosen exaggerated global
warming.”
This is very unwelcoming, considering that humans’ effects on the environment and global
warming have been very highly discussed and debated within the past couple of years, and
dozens of scientists study global and explain the importance of protecting the environment in
order to protect the Earth.
David Rose, also explained how his team’s “revelations were met with fury by green
propagandists. Some claimed the MoS had published ‘fake news’.”
It is interesting to use the words green propaganda to describe people who want to improve
the environment. Clearly global warming is happening, even if it is not happening as fast as one
group of scientists falsely claimed it was, why do we need to wait until the world has gone
completely up in flames to try and improve it? Why not start now when scientists have the
technology to make the world more environmentally friendly.
I also find it interesting that they mention fake news, when in research, I found that the only
places articles about this have been published on, instead of Daily Mail’s Science section, Daily
Mail’s Right Minds section, which have posted articles such as “Men are the REAL oppressed
sex today”, Breitbart, and The Daily Caller.
