Police Searching for Suspect after Female Officer is Killed

A manhunt continues After an Orlando police officer was shot and killed Monday. Another officer also died in a traffic accident during the search for the suspect.

The gunman, as told by Markeith Loyd, is “armed and extremely dangerous.” He has a long criminal history and on November 30th wrote on his Facebook page: “Goals!!!! To be on Americas most wanted. Law enforcement has been searching for him since Orlando police Master Sergeant Debra Clayton was shot outside of a Walmart on Monday.

The sergeant had received word on Monday morning that Loyd, who has been wanted since his pregnant ex- girlfriend was shot at her front door, was near a local Walmart. She was chasing after him when she was shot.

Later, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class, Norman Lewis, died while taking part in the manhunt when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle.

With two officer’s killed, the Orlando police have vowed to find Loyd. “I’m confident we will find him,” said Orlando Police Chief John Mina. “It doesn’t matter where he is. We will track him down to the ends of the Earth to find him.”

They are offering up to a $60,000 in reward for information leading to his arrest.
