Fall Break Boredom Busters

Emma Coons, Writer

Fall Break is an awesome time to spend with friends, family, and whoever else you’d want to spend it with, but nowadays it seems like more and more people are only solving their boredom only with binge-watching Netflix. (Although in moderation a good Netflix watch is a solid choice, and new this month Titanic, Black Mirror Season 3, American Horror Story: Hotel, The Flash Season 2, The Grinder Season 1, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and a great pick Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin are members of the Netflix family). Sometime, or more most-times, a Netflix binge detox is necessary. This Fall Break, here are some great not-internet-related ways to keep yourself entertained.

$10 or Less:

Keeping it cheap, fall-themed crafts are always an option. If you have any craft supplies at home, this fall boredom buster could be free! If you think crafts are just for kids, you’re WRONG! Crafts are for all ages, just ask my various hand-tye-dyed shirts. For a fun fall theme you could go for a fall leaf print, where you color a piece of paper over a leaf to see the design it makes. (Spoiler Alert: It is Picasso-level beauty). You could also paint a pine cone, because why not? Basically just go outside and grab some fall nature and glue it together. It’s a great time. You could also host a sleepover, which, again, is NOT a childish activity. Slumber parties are super fun, okay. Movie marathons are another great idea for you or your sleepover.

No Limit:

Yes, sorry all you hipsters out there, I know going on a trip is pretty typical and mainstream for Fall Break. Some of the most popular destinations for our area are Gatlinburg (which has many fun destinations especially if you like small-town fun), pan-handle Florida/Lower Alabama including Destin, Seaside, Panama City, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach. However travelandleisure.com claims one of the best spots to go in the US during autumn is Chicago, because it’s a beautiful temperature and less crowded.
