Top 10 Songs of the 80s

September 20, 2015
I, the music master I am, decided to throw it back into time and hit up the top songs from the 80’s. These are the results I found.
NUMBER 10: Every Breath You Take – The Police
NUMBER 9: Jump – Van Halen
NUMBER 8: Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
NUMBER 7: I’ve Been Losing You – A-ha
NUMBER 6: Summer Of ’69 – Bryan Adams
NUMBER 5: Take on Me – A-ha
NUMBER 4: Beat It – Michael Jackson
NUMBER 3: Livin’ On a Prayer – Bon Jovi
NUMBER 2: Sweet Child of Mine – Guns N Roses
MIGHTY NUMBER 1: Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
Personally, being born in the late 90’s I only know six of the songs. After a great deal of soul searching (listening to all the songs) and discussing the list with my very opinionated mother who was quite heated because her “hype” workout son “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cydni Lauper did not make an appearance on the list; I have come to the conclusions that one, the 80’s had great music, and two, some songs were greatly underrated including “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears and “New Years Day” by U2. Both of those songs were feature on the “Almost Top 40 Material” article published on the Huffington Post’s website. Needless to say, if you are not up to speed on your 80’s music, get listening, because you are missing out on some ultimate timeless jams.
