“Making it big on GTA”

 “Making it big on GTA”

Time to grab your ski mask because “Heists” update is here! Players have been waiting for this content since the game came out in 2013. Even though Rockstar Games has had over a year to work on and produce this new content, they could not handle the amount of players on day one of the DLCs release. Rockstar’s servers for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4 all went down on March tenth, the release day. The servers were back up and running later that night.
Many players proceeded to enjoy the new update. New features are available now, such as the new adversary mode. The adversary mode adds new missions that are primarily a team of one to four players who must defend themselves from another team while only having one life. Though adversary mode is a nice little slice, but the rest of the cake is what we have all been waiting for. Heists, this is what players have been anticipating the whole time.
Heists are one to four player jobs that take the span of multiple missions. These are not the small time gang crimes, these are the big time crimes. From bank robberies to prison breaks, heists covers a lot of ground. I did a heist on day one of release myself with my friend Alex, the outcome was exciting and awesome! As any great theft starts, it started with planning. My character and Alex’s character met at my character’s apartment and met Lester.
Lester is a character from GTA V’s main story that helps the main characters with planning their big jobs. After the meet and greet, me, Alex, and Lester went to scope out a small bank. I drove us while Alex hacked into the camera system of the back to take a peek inside. We looked over the security, nothing but cameras and a teller. We met back at my apartment and looked over what resources we will need to pull off the job.
We came to the conclusion that we would need an armored car for the escape and other small things such as a drill, masks, and fire arms for the job. Alex and I took it upon ourselves to sneak into a Korean gang’s hideout and relieve them of their armored car. We took the stealth route of taking the car rather than busting onto the scene with guns blazing like some others might. After we dropped the car off at Lester’s warehouse we met back up to go over the finale of the heist. Lester took care of fetching the other requirements for the heist.
We were back at my apartment to choose what we would wear for the job. Alex and I wore suits and balaclavas of different colors. As the heist leader I chose the pay out percentage for myself and Alex. I also chose to be the driller for the job were as Alex would be the getaway driver. Once we were geared up we headed downstairs to get to Alex’s car then proceeded to Lester’s warehouse and get the armored car.
We were all set, just time to head to the bank and get to work. On the way to the back I took the liberty of hacking into the banks security systems to gain access to the alarm system and vault door. Once we rolled up I locked up their alarm system and opened the vault. Alex and I ran in with shotguns and I rushed to the vault. Alex stayed in the front and shot out the security cameras and kept an eye on the hostages making sure they were nice and scared.
I on the other hand made it into the vault and started drilling into one of the marked lockers for the saftey deposit box. As soon as I got it I told Alex that it was time to go. We rushed out of the bank were police were already on the scene. We jumped into the car and darted off down the highway. Police and SWAT were everywhere, shooting at us as we drove by.
We needed to get to the bridge next to the Army base. Once we plowed through a few police barriers, we made it to the bridge. Lester took it upon himself to have a little surprise waiting for us. A military chopper with a giant magnet hooked onto the bottom was hovering over the bridge, right down the center. Alex need to drive right under the magnet to let it left our car and get us out of there.
Thankfully we made it and were lifted away to saftey. Once we got back to the city, we dropped off the saftey deposit box to Lester and he wired us our cuts of the job. After that we just hung out and enjoyed having completed our first heist. Though for other players, some parts of the heist could have gone very differently. That’s up for the player to decide. Whether it be to go about each part of the heist loud and crazy or to be quite and smart it’s all up to you.
