As the year 2014 is coming to an end, it is always interesting to look back and reflect on the most researched stories on the Internet. Here is a list of the most popular topics looked up-

January– Latvia becomes the 18th member of the Eurozone as it adopts the Euro as its currency.

February– Ebola strikes in West Africa as it takes over the lives of 14,000 people and killing around 5,000.

March– A Malaysia Airline disappeared while en route to Beijing. It mysteriously went off the grid with 239 passengers.

April– In Nigeria, around 275 women and young girls were abducted and held hostage.

May– the Kentucky Derby is won by California Chrome

June- The 2014 FIFA World Cup was held in Brazil where Germany won.

July– Malaysia Airline went down in Ukraine after being shot by a missile.

August– The American military starts an air campaign in Iraq to prevent growth of ISIS

September-A World Summit for Nobel Peace was held in Cape Town after a boycott to protest the refusal of the Dalai Lama’s visa.

October– Ebola hits the US as Nina Pham tests positive for the disease.

November– The Ferguson trial takes over the news as the officer was deemed innocent of the conviction.
